Boundless
This sculpture captures the dynamic movement and powerful vitality of my dog, inspired by his joyous leaps through the ferns during our walks. It celebrates his uncontainable energy and serves as a metaphor for the boundless joy I feel when immersed in nature alongside him. Still in the casting process, the image shows the sculpture connected to the intricate running and riser system, a vital stage in the lost wax casting method. Each element of this process is completed in my personal foundry setup, where I take pride in crafting every detail by hand.
The sculpture, part of the same collection as Freedom and Sacred Cow, will feature polished bronze with gemstone eyes, imbuing it with a divine, almost otherworldly presence. The polished surface will emphasise the vitality of the form, while the gemstones will act as windows into its soul, adding a mystical and reverential quality.
My dog’s lively spirit and his unfiltered joy in exploring the world symbolise more than just his own energy—they represent the emotional and spiritual connection I experience in nature. This connection, akin to a form of worship, inspires the deity-like aesthetic of the piece. Through this work, I aim to celebrate life’s boundless energy and its capacity to anchor us to the natural world, reminding us of the deep and primal bonds we share with it.
The interplay of polished bronze and the vibrant gemstones will evoke a sense of awe, bridging the human and the divine, the playful and the sacred. It is as much a tribute to my dog as it is an expression of gratitude for the natural world that sustains and inspires us both.
